About This Product: Our osmanthus Anji White Tea combines the pleasant aromatic scent of Osmanthus flower with the mild and incredibly unique taste of Anji White tea, known as Anji Bai Cha (Chinese: 安吉白茶) in China. Anji White tea is a type of green tea cultivated in Anji county, Zhejiang Province, China only.
Ingredients and Flavor Profile: The tea is made of Anji White tea and osmanthus flower. The unpicked leaves of the white tea are more white than green due to the low amount of chlorophyll. This type of green tea was described by Lu Yu (Chinese: 陆羽), a famous poet in the Tang dynasty more than 1000 years ago, and the original mother tea plants were rediscovered in 1982 in Anji County of Zhejiang Province. The leaves are picked in late-March into early April, were then processed through multiple complicated steps, and finally pan-fried in a wok which brings out its mild and incredibly unique flavor of White tea. With the pleasant aroma added by the osmanthus flower, this tea results in a perfect balance of flavors that is both soothing and refreshing!
Brewing and Serving Suggestions: Use of 75-80 ºC (167-176 ºF) quality spring water and short steeping times is recommended to get the most out of this lovely tea! Experiment with the amount of tea leaves, amount of water, and infusion times to reach your preferred strength of tea. The taste and aroma can last through 2-3 infusions! No filter is needed and many enjoy chewing on or eating the tender leaves.
Packaging: Each 0.88 oz pouch can be used to make about 6-8 cups of tea (about 3-4 grams for 200 ml of water per serving).
Health Benefits: The tea is made of all natural products, and is known for its potential health benefits, including boosting immunity, and providing antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects.
